Pellet Feed

Pellet Feed Plant Process

Pellet Feed manufacturing refers to the process of producing animal feed from raw agricultural products. The manufacturing process usually start with the grinding process. Grinding of selected raw material is to produce particle sizes to be optimally and easily accepted by the animals. Depending on the formulation, feed could contain different components including carbohydrate, protein, vitamins, minerals and additives. After grinding Mixing process is done where uniformity in the complete feed is necessary and to satisfy nutritional requirements of the animal to achieve growth, production and good health as well and also meet regulatory guidelines of food administration. The feed can then be pelleted by proportionally homogenizing the specific compositions. Pelleting is achieved with help of Pellet Mill. A hygienic environment is important during the entire process of the feed production to ensure quality feed.

The plant consists of the following key components

Salient Features :
  • The chain conveyor transfers raw material to the bucket elevator which is feeding the raw material to batching bins

  • The purpose of this system is to store different raw materials into the bins and further is used for batching. and these are equipped with sensors.
  • For Batch Formulation the raw material is transferred to weigh bin through Screw Conveyor.

Salient Features :
  • Batch is formed as per the recipe and then weighted.
  • Weighing system assures an exact batch as per the formulation.
  • The weighed batch is then transferred for further process of grinding.
  • A Digital Display is installed that shows the exact weight of the batch.

  • A Full screen hammer mill is used for grinding of the raw materials whose purpose is to shred or crush aggregate material into smaller pieces by the repeated blows of little hammers or beaters
  • The Rotary vane feeder above hammer mill Uniformly feeds the raw material to the hammer mill
  • With the help of (Rotary Vane Feeder) RVF it minimizes the chances of load on hammer mill and encourage the efficiency of hammer mill
  • Rotary vane feeder is optional.
  • The hammer mill rotor is dynamically balanced.
  • Quick screen changing clamp mechanism is provided that minimizes the time loss during the operation.
  • Vibration mount at foundation reduces the vibration and noise.
  • It is supplied with safety limit switches.
  • Forward and reverse flap is provided for bidirectional rotation.
  • All the machines are provided on a rigid and strong supporting structure.

  • Mixer is the key component of the feed milling operation. With the help of proper blender you can achieve growth, production rate and health of animals.
  • Our mixer is made up with double type inner & outer ribbon.
  • With the help of proper angle and fine clearance our mixer (CV<5)
  • A branded made gear box make it able to lift heavy load and mixing the ingredients homogenously.
  • Door at bottom of mixer is provided for maintenance/cleaning purpose.
  • A special provision is provided to the mixer to unload the feed from the mixer if there is a sudden power failure.

Premix Dosing

  • A premix is a mixture of vitamins, trace minerals, medicaments, feed supplements and diluents. It is a value added to the solution for feeds with sustainable safety and quality
  • A stainless Steel round storage bins with screw discharges and weighing units are used for premix and medicine feeding in the mixture with an accuracy of ± 0.1%.

Oil Dosing

  • An Automatic Oil dosing is used for the process designed with load cell.
  • A Stainless steel Oil tank is used along with accessories like oil pumps, pipe line, valves like Solenoid valve, Non-return valve are used and along with that a special designed pressure release pipe line is attached.

  • Pellet mill is equipped with a Screw Feeder & Multi Conditioners.
  • The Conditioning is done to add heat and moisture in mixed feed to achieve gelatinization and making the product more suitable for pelleting.
  • An ideal conditioning system should meet the following:
    1. It should raise the temperature and moisture of product by direct or indirect heating.
    2. It should give desired retention time in conditioners.
  • Multi conditioners assures the perfect cooking of the material.
  • Our conditioner is perfectly designed to give optimum residual time.

Salient Features :
  • After conditioning the raw material is further transferred to the pellet mill.
  • Pelleting is the process where the feed is formed by extruding individual ingredients or mixtures by compacting and forcing through die openings by an mechanical process.
  • Our pellet mill ensure a high output and effective control over pellet quality. The dimensions of these pellet mills have been fixed to withstand great force.

Salient Features :
  • The intense friction applied in the die during the pelleting process causes additional heat to develop. Coolers are in place to reduce critical temperatures before shifting, packing and storing the pellets.
  • The cooler is Counter Flow And batch type equipped with sensors.

  • A crumbler is a roller mill with rolls specially designed for crumbling feed pellets.
  • Its objective is to produce crumbled feed to control reduction to a specific particle size with a minimum of fines.
  • Thus the cooled pellets are reduced in small pieces in crumbler.

  • The Ready feed is bagged through the Auto-Bagging system unit.
  • The system assures the weigh accuracy while bagging the feed.
